Two for one! Lidl and Heidi team up for fashion range
SUPERMODEL Heidi Klum has teamed up with bargain supermarket giants Lidl to bring a no-frills approach to fashion.
In an unlikely alliance, the partnership hopes to offer a ‘high-end’ clothing range.
Heidi already has a lingerie and swimwear range in her own name. Now the half-German blonde’s own fashion collection, which is said to mirror her characteristic style, will be available exclusively at Lidl later this year.
That said, the former Victoria’s Secret lingerie model, pictured, is very far from the typical 44-year-old mother of four.
In recent years, the model, who was at one time married to singer Seal, has become better known as a TV presenter and designer.
She presented Project Runway on the US cable television channel Bravo in which fashion designers competed for the opportunity to show their line at New York Fashion Week.
More recently, she has been a judge on America’s Got Talent.
German discount store Lidl is keeping details of the new fashion range secret – other than to say it will be ‘high end, yet affordable’.
While no longer a catwalk model, she has recently been promoting a new photography book, Heidi Klum By Rankin, in which she appears naked.
Speaking at Naomi Campbell’s Fashion for Relief gala in Cannes, she said: ‘We should be celebrating a woman’s body, it doesn’t matter what age they are.’
On the partnership with the supermarket, she said: ‘Lidl is known for making quality products at affordable prices and I’m proud to partner with them on this fashion collaboration. I had so much fun designing the pieces in this collection.’
