Kinahan ‘money man’ held in police chase

A BUSINESSMAN linked to the Kinahan cartel, and close associate of the late model Katy French, has been arrested in the UK after being caught with guns following a police car chase.

The well-known businessman, who has criminal convictions, is a ‘money man’ for the Kinahan cartel.

The Mail can reveal that the man, in his 40s, was arrested last Friday night in a car outside Birmingham with two other men.

Police were involved in a chase with the trio and they were all arrested and remained in custody for a number of days before being released under investigation, police said.

Security sources say the suspect is ‘deeply involved with the Kinahan cartel’ having previously had a falling out with the mob when a deal worth millions went sour.

The man was also closely linked to the late model and socialite Ms French, who died after ingesting cocaine, and the pair were photographed out on the social scene.

‘He is a dodgy businessman, in a major way. He’s been convicted over financial crimes in Ireland,’ a senior source said.

‘He is on the radar of Cab and is deeply involved with the Kinahans again, having previously fallen foul of them. He would have been murdered by the cartel long ago except they consider him too valuable.’

It is understood the other two men arrested alongside the Dublin businessman and English nationals.

Separately in the UK, a Dubliner fighting extradition for questioning in relation to the murder of Gareth Hutch last year is claiming his life ‘is not safe’ if he is returned.

Jonathan Keogh, 31, whose brother Michael Keogh was shot dead last month, was arrested two weeks ago in Romford in the UK after a European arrest warrant was issued. He has been held in a London prison and is due before a UK court in August.
