Chain-saw robbery case adjourned

A MAN who robbed a pizzeria with a chainsaw-wielding accomplice has had his case adjourned for one year on a bond to allow him undergo probation supervisio­n. The pair made off with €2,535. Craig Dempsey, 25, formerly of Allenton Road, Tallaght, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to robbing Apache Pizza in Oldbawn Shopping Centre in Tallaght on September 6, 2015. His co-accused remains before the courts. The court heard Dempsey was acting completely out of character to pay off a drug debt and was remorseful. Judge Melanie Greally adjourned the case until July 2018 to give him time to conquer his residual drug use.
