I featured this barbecue star last week on the Nicky Byrne Show on 2FM. It’s packed with ripe Spanish fruit – think strawberry – and is quite simply a steal at this price.
TESCO FINEST AMONTILLADO SHERRY €10.99/50CL, TESCO
Beware, this is bone dry! A very grown-up sherry, nutty, intense and very long. A wine for contemplation, perhaps with hard cheese. Serious stuff at a silly price.
DONA PAULA ESTATE BLACK EDITION €15, SUPERVALU
Heavenly, intense, rich Argentinian red wine with a very generous seasoning of oak, and lovely length, now on special offer. It demands a thick t-bone steak, cooked very rare.
