I now find myself living in fear of being alone. I have many friends, but a lot of them are couples and I always feel like the odd one out. I am a spiritual person and would like any advice you have to offer. ANSWER DEAR D, retirement is something to look forward to, not to be feared. It is understandable it will bring up fears and doubts about your future, however looking at things in a positive light will help you feel much more comfortable with the adjustment. It’s a time in our lives to do all the things we have been too busy to do and putting off for so long. There is no reason for you not to continue being independent, and if you have never felt the need to marry in the past, why should entering retirement make you feel any different? If you have always been happy living alone, there are lots of community support networks available for meeting people in similar situations — clubs and social events for unattached people you could check out in your local area. FIRST CARD: SPREAD YOUR WINGS ALTHOUGH you may feel intimidated by the prospect of change, and by the thought of moving out of your comfort zone, you are ready to fly high. Welcome new opportunities, and know it is safe for you to follow your heart and dreams. ADVICE/OBSTACLE: BRIGHT FUTURE THIS is a kind universe and everyone within it is working in your favour. There are no tests, blocks or obstacles in your way, except your own projections of fear into the future. Take a moment and hush your mind, quieting it from worries and fears. Feel the angels brush your brow with new energy of faith, hope and optimism. These energies fuel your exciting present time, as well as all future moments. Why should you wish darkness upon yourself when light shines all around you? Refuse to think of anything except your bright today and tomorrow, and the angels promise you that it shall be so. OUTCOME: NEW BEGINNINGS SOMETIMES we cling to old routines because they are familiar. By drawing this card, the angels ask you to be open to new approaches. Perhaps they will teach you a new way of looking at situations. Or maybe they will call on you to learn a new skill. Whatever the new beginning is for you, allow yourself to be enriched by the fresh circumstances . We learn about ourselves through new experiences.
