POLDARK Tomorrow, 9pm - BBC1

MUCH as I hate to be the bearer of bad news for our womenfolk, the current run of Poldark is almost over. But, relax, Ross (Aidan Turner) will be back with his brooding good looks and snug britches. Filming of the fourth series gets underway next month.

TO ROME WITH LOVE Tomorrow, 9.30pm - RTÉ1

AT the last count, Woody Allen had directed up to 50 films. I’m firmly convinced he would enjoy a far greater reputation if he had kept it in single figures. That said, this 2012 production is certainly watchable. It has four separate stories, featuring a cast that includes Alec Baldwin, Penélope Cruz, Roberto Bagnini and Allen.

PRINCESS DIANA’S ‘WICKED STEPMOTHER’ Thursday, 9pm - Channel 4

I’D imagine we can expect a few more programmes along these lines as the 20th anniversar­y of that car crash in Paris approaches. According to the Channel 4 blurb, this hour-long special gives ‘an insight into the turbulent relationsh­ip between Princess Diana and her formidable stepmother Raine Spencer’. The thrice-married countess – daughter of romance novelist Barbara Cartland – died last year aged 87. Amusingly, she was nicknamed ‘Acid Raine’

by Diana and her siblings.

QUEEN: THE LEGENDARY 1975 CONCERT Friday, 11.45pm - BBC4

IT would take some time to choose which Queen song I hate the most. Bohemian Rhapsody and the woeful Radio Gaga would certainly be on the shortlist. Still, even I’m prepared to acknowledg­e they were capable of knocking out the occasional good tune. This concert, marking the end of a UK tour, was first broadcast live from the Hammersmit­h Odeon on Christmas Eve ’75.
