Caitriona lets Sam know that he’s spoiled Outlander for the rest of us!

-

THEY play on-screen partners Claire Beauchamp Randall/Fraser and and Jamie MacKenzie Fraser on the hit time travel television series Outlander.

And Monaghan native Caitriona Balfe, 37, proved her relationship with Sam Heughan, 36, is just as fun off-screen, as she went online to tease her co-star after he accidentally shared – before deleting – a spoiler. She took to Twitter to give him a roasting.

‘Sorry for the spoiler you guys!!! Mistakenly saw post that wasn’t official + reposted, I apologize. [Love] you all!’ an embarrassed Sam tweeted after he deleted the spoiler tweet.

But Caitriona, pictured with Sam, didn’t let his mistake slide, tweeting cheekily: ‘Hey @SamHeughan …… Numpty !!!! ’

Returning the sassy exchanges, Sam replied, ‘Actually, think you’ll find Starz [entertainment company] posted first! #StillANumpty.’

Sam’s dashing star’s character, rebel highlander Jamie Fraser, and his love interest Claire (Caitriona) are meant to be 20 years older in the new series.

Last year, the pair regularly denied that they were a real-life item, with Sam telling the Radio Times: ‘It was a weird one, we were asked in an interview and we were honest about it.

‘I really sort of felt that we shouldn’t really discuss it. Having said that, I guess we’re aware of it, and we’re aware that some fans were upset.

‘They felt that they’d been duped or something, which is really strange because we’re just doing our job.’

‘I think if me and Caitriona were together we wouldn’t say. Why would you? In this industry we give away so much of ourselves anyway. We talk about ourselves and we tell people stuff.

‘I guess it’s nice that we’ve done our job well enough to convince them,’ he added.

Catriona Balfe started off as a fashion model in Paris and featured in advertising campaigns for for brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, Max Mara, Bottega Veneta, H&M, Victoria’s Secret and Oscar de la Renta over the course of ten years before she concentrated more fully on acting.

She received two nominations for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Series – Drama, for Outlander.

She has also starred in films Super 8, Now You See Me, Escape Plan and Money Monster.
