Fears for children ‘taken out of the country’
GARDAÍ fear two children reported missing yesterday have been taken out of the country by their father.
Yesterday an appeal was launched for information on the whereabouts of Limerick brothers Ayaan Azad, two, and his five-yearold brother Arnel.
The young siblings were last seen in their Limerick home at Ballintine Place, Steamboat Quay on the city’s Dock Road on October 31.
They left the home accompanied by their father, Seilim Azad on Tuesday.
Mr Azad was driving a black Nissan Primera registration number 05 L 1598, with his young children with him when he left the home.
The father was thought to have taken his children to Dublin initially. However, gardaí now fear the man and his two sons are no longer in the country.
The children have been described as ‘vulnerable’ and there are concerns for their care.
The children’s mother has been co-operating with gardaí.
Five-year-old Arnel was last seen in a white T-shirt and blue and white pyjama bottoms while his two-year-old brother, Ayaan, was wearing a bright blue jumper with a crest and blue tracksuit bottoms.
Anyone with information on the children’s whereabouts is asked to contact Limerick’s Henry Street Garda station on 061-212400 or the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111.
