EATS AND DRINKS
WINE CHOICE
Our Beefsteak Club Mendoza Malbec – new one to me – was disappointing at €32, lacking the kind of concentration you want for steak. Prices start at €27 a bottle which is a bit presumptuous but there are plenty of beef-friendly wines, albeit at ambitious prices, e.g. Ravenswood Lodi Old Vine Zinfandel at €45 and Ramon Bilbao Rioja Reserva at €49. What a Chinon is doing on a beefy wine list is anyone’s guess.
SMART MONEY
Tomahawk is not cheap. Nor does it appear to offer an early bird menu.
AND ANOTHER THING
Just for comparison, Shanahan’s do a whopping 24 ounce t-bone for €49.85.
