‘We’ve tried so hard for a baby. It’s a blessing’ – Kathryn

-

KATHRYN Thomas has revealed that she and her fiancé Pádraig McLoughlin have wanted a baby for a long time.

Kathryn, pictured, who is five months pregnant, had planned to wed Pádraig this summer, but the couple have put off their nuptials until the new baby arrives.

The RTÉ star, 38, revealed yesterday: ‘Myself and Pádraig had wanted a family for a long time, so it’s a real blessing for us.’

And on delaying her nuptials she said: ‘We are toying with the idea. We’d set a time and a place but this has been a long time coming, so this is the priority for us now.

‘ Our friends and family understand that, so if we go with it, great, or if we go to Vegas the week after the baby, great! We’ll make it up as we go along.’

Kathryn and restaurateur Pádraig got engaged last year while on a romantic trip to Ballyfin House in Laois.

Pádraig has a 21-year- old son, Conor, from a previous relationship. Conor competed on the BBC talent show Let It Shine.

Speaking at the National Sports Campus i n Blanchardstown, where 19 finali sts were hoping to j oin Operation Transformation as one of the show’s five inspirational leaders, the show’s presenter opened up on her pregnancy.

‘I’m feeling great,’ she said. ‘It’s been five months and I’ve been very lucky, I’ve had no nausea. On my doctor’s advice, I eased off on the training. I eased off on bootcamp and just slowed down a little bit.

‘And now I’m going back to the gym again, just taking medical advice. I’m doing what feels right for me.’

And it will be double the baby joy on the show this year as dietitian Aoife Hearne is expecting child number three.

‘It’s a very fertile show,’ Aoife laughed, saying that her baby is due in the middle of May.
