It’s all about that bling for Meghan as she opens up on engagement

-

SHE announced her engagement to actor Daryl Sabara in December – but Meghan Trainor has admitted she thought she would never find love, after lamenting her single status just a week before being set up on a blind date with her now-fiancé.

The singer, 24, pictured showing off her ring, discussed her engagement on ITV’s Lorraine, telling show host Lorraine Kelly that fate offered her a helping hand in finding her man.

Meghan said: ‘I remember I was crying in an Uber on my way home. There was a scream and I thought, “Where is he? I know he’s here.”

‘There’s this saying that you speak to the universe and you get what you wish for. A week later my friend set me up on a blind date.’

Meghan announced her engagement to Daryl after a year-and-a-half of dating, recalling the magical moment during a chat on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show.

She said: ‘I told him, “What did you say?” He got down, I remember that, and was like, “What’s happening!?’’

During her Lorraine chat, Meghan also spoke about advocating against photoshopping pictures after discovering she had been secretly altered in the video for her single Me Too.

She said: ‘I looked at my video and thought, “My God it’s on my videos,” and thought, “My God, take it down”.’

In a candid moment, the All About That Bass songstress also revealed that despite her recent success, she still suffers from crippling anxiety.

She said: ‘I experienced anxiety to where it cripples you. I studied all this stuff on mental health.’

Meghan has spoken openly about her battles with anxiety and depression in the past, revealing she was once rushed to hospital unaware she was having a panic attack.

Speaking on the Dan Wootton Interview Podcast, she said: ‘I went to the emergency room one night, because I thought I was allergic to what I ate. My throat was closing and I was having trouble breathing. They told me, “This is a full-blown panic attack”.’

Since overhauling her diet in a bid to improve her mental health, Meghan said she had no idea how she managed to lose 20 pounds.

She told Lorraine: ‘I wasn’t even trying to drop pounds.’
