TREATS FOR BODY AND SOUL

-

÷St Patrick’s Day is my favourite holiday weekend. It brings back happy memories of getting up early and taking the kids to the parade and having lunch somewhere nice on the way home. We have been to parades over the years in New York and Chicago – where they turn the river green. We’ve even gone all the way to Westport! However, the best parade of all is in Dublin – I know, I am biased! We have opted to open on Saturday night and close on Monday instead. Although our boys in green have won the Six Nations Championship, it is such a pity the last match is in Twickenham and not here, on home ground at the Aviva. The atmosphere last Saturday after their win against Scotland was magic. Everyone was elated and I know I, for one, am rooting for them to win the Grand Slam. Wouldn’t it be lovely? We had a fair few Scots in during the weekend and they all said the best team won. The people I spoke with look forward to coming to Dublin every second year and book their accommodation at least a year in advance to make sure they have a place to stay within easy distance of Lansdowne Road and the city. They asked me about Dublin’s ever-changing hotels and if we will ever have enough rooms for visitors. From what I can see, several new hotels will be open for business by the end of this year. I am not saying that the boom is back, but there is a confidence out there again, thank God. Maybe next time Darling Derry and I will get a chance to see our team play at the stadium, instead of on TV. Here’s hoping they bring home the silverware on our national holiday. ÷La Roche-Posay have an Micellar Water Ultra for sensitive skin that removes all make-up, including mascara and eye make-up, making it a one-for-all product in one bottle. It can also be used lightly before or after your shower so that you are cleansed and ready for the day ahead, whatever your make-up routine... And for just €15.50 a bottle, this isn’t going to break the bank. Available at pharmacies nationwide and from laroche-posay.com
