Boy, oh boy… Vogue lets slip baby’s gender
VOGUE Williams has accidentally let it slip that she’s expecting a baby boy.
The 32-year-old model and TV presenter was chatting to host Brendan O’Connor on RTÉ’s Cutting Edge on Wednesday night when she made the admission. Speaking about her pregnancy, she said: ‘I’m not eating for two people. My baby is the size of an heirloom tomato today. I googled it.’
Host Brendan then asked: ‘A little tomato… Is it happy in there right now on television?’ She responded, ‘He’s delighted with himself!’
The DJ, realising she had let the news slip, hid her face in her hands and laughed as Brendan quizzed her: ‘Is he? So it’s a boy?’
The Howth native was less than impressed with the presenter, joking: ‘I hate you! I knew you would do it!’
She then tried to salvage the situation, adding: ‘Maybe it’s a boy, maybe it’s a girl. Is it too late?’
Vogue, whose baby is due in September, also spoke about how she has kept up her exercise regime, saying she trains five or six days a week – ‘to the dismay of a lot of people’.
She revealed: ‘If I put a training video up, I could have 20 messages saying, “You shouldn’t be doing this, you shouldn’t be training like that.”’
Hitting back at the critics, she said: ‘It’s healthy to train during your pregnancy. Particularly for me because I trained the whole way before.’
Vogue announced last month that she and ex-Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews are expecting their first child – just weeks after revealing their engagement.
In a recent interview with Hello!, the pair said they want to keep the baby’s nursery gender-neutral.
‘I don’t like the idea of pink for a girl, blue for a boy. I want it to be so anyone can go in there,’ said Vogue.
