Courteney and her daughter are best of friends

COURTENEY Cox has opened up on the secret of her strong relationship with her budding musical star daughter Coco... a daughter who keeps all the good stuff from her mother. The 53-year-old former Friends star told People’s Beautiful issue: ‘I want her to tell me everything, and she doesn’t want to tell me anything!’

‘We bicker, let’s be honest, but we love each other. We laugh a lot, for sure.’ said the Cougar Town star. ‘I would also describe it as, well, I am a 13-year-old girl, you are a mom, so I love you, but of course we’re gonna get in fights,’ explained Coco.

‘But we’re very close. Very close. I love you a lot.’

Courteney co-parents her only child with her former husband David Arquette.

Both parents work to support each other, ‘You don’t want to go in one house and have anything split,’ explained the Scream actress. ‘You want it to be harmonious in both places.’

Courteney also revealed that Coco, pictured with Courteney, has been in 16 musicals and is ‘an incredible singer.’ ‘She does plays,’ she said. ‘I’m sitting there watching you be incredible, I just send you off to the plays to be incredible,’ Courteney tells her daughter.

Courteney says she wants Coco to have a hobby, ‘She is really good. I want to make her play the piano. I wish my mom had made me play the piano because I do it now, but if I’d done it consistently since I was a kid, I’d be great.’

The American actress was married to Arquette for 14 years and is engaged to Snow Patrol musician Johnny McDaid, who is from Derry.
