THIS IS WHAT 59 LOOKS LIKE

-

URSULA NICHOLLS works in health and social care. She lives with her husband, Steve, and has two children, aged 26 and 32. GET AN INSTANT GLOW I’VE worn make-up every day since I was 17. I can’t live without blusher — it’s amazing for getting back the glow that fades with age. Go for cream, not powder-based versions. My favourite is MAC’s Cremeblend Blush in Posey (€22, lookfantastic.com). HEALTHY HAIR DYE IF YOUR hair looks good, everything else falls into place. My natural shade is very dark. I started going grey in my mid-20s, so I’ve been colouring it every two months for more than 30 years. This can take its toll, so to keep my hair in condition, I always go to the salon for a professional, oil-based L’Oreal Inoa dye. It is free from ammonia.

TIME TO WORK OUT

THE key to exercise is understanding whether you’re a morning or night person, then tailoring your regime. I love going for an early morning run or cycle.

TAILOR YOUR TAN

A BRONZED look is one of the best turn-back-theclock cheats. However, too much sun can be very ageing. I use tailored sun protection on different parts of the body. On my face and neck, I use Piz Buin Sun Sensitive Skin Face Cream SPF50 to prevent sun spots, then compensate for the lack of tan with L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Self Tan. On my arms and legs, I use Piz Buin Tan & Protect SPF15 to allow a natural, even tan.

ART OF BODY CONFIDENCE

I TOOK up life-drawing classes three years ago. I never expected the models to offer such a boost to my body confidence. It is empowering to see people of all shapes, sizes and ages comfortable in themselves. Interview: FLORENCE SCORDOULIS
