21 mins: The teams were level four times in the opening exchanges before Waterford knitted together a four-point scoring spurt, with the impressive Jamie Barron putting them 0-10 to 0-6 up.

31 mins: Tom Devine was giving the Cork defence a torrid time and got on the scoresheet as Waterford maintained their four-point advantage at half-time, 0-15 to 0-11.

55 mins: The second-half was a much scrappier affair although Michael ‘Brick’ Walsh, in possibly his last act before being subbed for Waterford (above), set Tommy Ryan up for a goal that put Waterford in the ascendency.
