PICK OF THE DAY

THE FAMILY FARM, 8PM, BBC2

THREE families with no experience of farming volunteer for the adventure of a lifetime when the agree to spend their summer living on a remote hill farm. Moving into a village of yurts (basically fancy tents), with chicken coop and vegetable plot, they will learn what it takes to run a keep afloat. Overseeing the adventure are farmer Gareth Wyn Jones and Kate Humble (pictured). They will be on hand to help with tasks that range from sheep shearing to training sheepdogs. Kate has been here before: a decade ago the citydweller moved to the countryside to become a farmer. Let’s see if she can pass on her own skills.
