UNITED READY £60m BID FOR WILLIAN

- OLIVER TODD

MANCHESTER UNITED are preparing a £60million bid to take Willian from Chelsea this summer. United boss Jose Mourinho is seeking a reunion with the Brazil midfielder, 29, who he signed when Chelsea manager from Shakhtar Donetsk five years ago. Willian (right) played the 90 minutes of Brazil’s draw with Switzerland last night, but has been used sparingly at Chelsea, starting only 20 times in the Premier League last season, when he was still rated Chelsea Players’ Player of the Year. United made enquiries about him in January when Chelsea were reluctant to sell. Mourinho hopes his former player can liven up United’s attack, which was the lowest scoring in the Premier League’s top four last season.
