‘I’m speechless’. How Ayda let slip about X Factor offer... with her husband Robbie

-

AYDA Field has fuelled speculation she will be joining The X Factor panel alongside husband Robbie Williams, after refusing to deny reports about the role. Asked on Loose Women yesterday, the 39-year-old coyly said: ‘It’s very rare that I am speechless but I have no comment.’

Ayda attempted to change the discussion by starting to speak to fellow panellist Kelly Brook, but anchor Ruth Langsford continued to ask about her potential role.

The Fresh Meat star added: ‘Changing the subject... have you done something new with your hair? Kelly, it’s been so great to see you, it’s amazing, it’s been years. I love you, ladies, but no comment.’

Robbie, who has five-year-old daughter Teddy and three-year-old son Charlton with actress Ayda, recently sparked speculation that he could be joining the judging panel on the TV talent show.

He said last week that ‘nothing has been signed’, but added that he would ‘love to do it’.

He said: ‘I’ve read these reports too and I would understand, because I’ve read the articles too, that people would think I’m doing The X Factor and so is my wife. As it happens people say it every year and I always say “no comment”.

‘There’s a lot of me that would love to do it, there’s a lot of talking but nothing has been signed.’

Robbie said he and his children spent plenty of time with Simon Cowell and the X Factor boss’s partner Lauren Silverman and the couple’s son Eric.

‘And we talk about a lot of things. Nothing is signed, but watch this space.’ The news emerges after Ayda and Robbie were in the Mandarin Oriental hotel in London this month when it caught fire.

The actress has revealed she was almost naked when she realised what was happening. She said: ‘It was very real, and surreal and scary.

‘We were there an hour before an event and we were having hair and make-up done on the top floor.

‘We all had the same response. I’m not going anywhere. It’s another fire drill. Rob stuck his head out the window and he was like “We have to get out now”.

‘I looked up and there was black smoke all over us. All of a sudden we were running down a fire escape.’

Ayda said her first thoughts were for the couple’s children. She said: ‘I was just thinking, “my kids, my kids, my kids, mummy and daddy have to get out”. I was naked, in just a dressing gown and it’s unnerved me. I was getting a panic attack.

‘I am glad I’m safe, I thank the universe,’ she said.
