Martinez is set to field weak team

-

BELGIUM manager Roberto Martinez has revealed that he could field a reserve team against England. With the sides due to meet in a Kaliningrad shoot-out for first place in Group G on Thursday, there is an argument that finishing second would lead to a smoother passage through the knockout stages. And while Martinez stressed that he will be sending his players out to win, the former Wigan and Everton boss said that he would not play anybody with an injury or any of the three players who are on yellow cards. Asked if he could rest all 10 outfield players from Saturday’s win over Tunisia, Martinez said: ‘Yes, it would be possible. It would be too risky and too much of a gamble to use players who have yellow cards.’

CHELSEA are not prepared to let Ruben Loftus-Cheek leave permanently this summer, but the Blues could sanction a second consecutive season-long loan for the England star. The 22-year-old does not want to return to Stamford Bridge next season if he is to spend the campaign on the bench. Loftus-Cheek excelled on loan at Crystal Palace last season and has enhanced his reputation in Russia by featuring in both England games. Chelsea will not listen to offers because they believe he still has a key role to play in future.

WAYNE ROONEY is on the brink of joining DC United and is expected to head to the United States this week to complete his move.’
