Mamma Mia! Pierce has only gone and spoiled it all

FANS will see him reprise his role of Sam in the sequel to the smash hit musical flick later this month. And now Pierce Brosnan accidentally let slip a major spoiler from Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again while promoting the movie alongside co-star Amanda Seyfried on yesterday’s This Morning show. The 65-year-old Navan man looked his usual dashing self in a two-piece suit for his appearance when host Phillip Schofield revealed that the former James Bond actor shared a massive plot detail while discussing the film. Speaking of the movie’s story, Pierce explained: ‘Its how Meryl [Streep] met Sam, Harry and it’s delightful – there’s much more meat on the bone on this one. ‘I think it’s as good as, if not better than, the last one. We all felt that, and the first one was so brilliant and such an unexpected surprise for everyone. Just went through the roof.’ Looking concerned, Phillip said: ‘I don’t think you realise Pierce that you’ve just done a little bit of a spoiler.’ To which, a bemused Pierce weighed in: ‘Oh, have I?’ The host added: ‘We were keeping a secret, maybe I’ll just let it go, and if you spotted what the spoiler was then well done.’ Philip’s co-host Holly Willoughby then rowed in: ‘Lots of people will be winding back now.’ Unsure about what he said, Pierce added: ‘They told us we can’t talk about this, we can’t talk about that. It’s a movie.’ The television favourites then moved swiftly on to discuss Cher’s cameo. Amanda, who is reprising her role as Sophie, gushed over the pop icon’s presence on set. She said: ‘She was the person we were missing in the first one we didn’t know who we were missing.’
