It’s that time of year again! Oh yes it is...

-

SUMMER is barely over but already the search is on for the stars of tomorrow to fill those seats at the panto. One of the biggest and best is, of course, the annual Olympia Theatre pantomime which this year will see some very familiar faces star in Polly and the Magic Lamp.

Dancing With The Stars winner Jake Carter will be joined by his fellow stepper Erin McGregor and Rory Cowan, formerly of Mrs Brown’s parish, for a spectacular show that is guaranteed to be second to none.

Fair City’s Sean, aka Ryan Andrews, Les Miserables star Rob Vickers and the all-round talent that is James Patrice are also on the bill for what will be a must-see family show.

Rory will be reprising his role of panto dame Polly, a hit with fans young and old, while Ryan is back as Olly, bringing with him a lot of laughs.

Jake, of course, won the hearts of the nation on Dancing With The Stars and he’s no stranger to panto either, having charmed audiences in Aladdin up in Belfast a few years back.

AND there’s no doubt Conor McGregor will be bringing his little fella along to watch his Auntie Erin take to the stage again, showing off the fancy footwork she learned on Dancing With The Stars.

The panto is being directed by another very famous face in the form of Weekend AM’s Simon Delaney, the lad formerly of Bachelor’s Walk who has always had a keen sideline in musicals and panto performances.

And now young fans are being given the chance to get involved as auditions are being held for children who will form part of the chorus for this year’s show.

Imagine being able to dance on stage at the Olympia with all those stars!

The producers are on the hunt for children aged between seven and 17 who are talented dancers.

Auditions are to be held this Sunday, September 30, from 10.30am at the Clasac Theatre, Alfie Byrne Road, Clontarf, Dublin 3.

The times for auditions are 10.30am for those aged between seven and 11, 2pm for the 12 to 14year-olds and 4.30pm for those aged 15 and over.

Anyone who wants to take part is advised to wear suitable clothing for a dance audition and bring along a recent photo.

Successful candidates must be available for rehearsals and practice during mid-term break from October 29 to November 4.

If you would rather just sit back, relax and watch the show, Polly and the Magic Lamp will be at the Olympia Theatre from December 21 until January 6 with matinee and evening performances.
