Still awkward! Strictly’s Katya and husband Neil ‘avoiding each other’

KATYA and Neil Jones are reportedly ‘avoiding each other’ backstage at Strictly Come Dancing following her ‘kiss-gate’ scandal. Their relationship was strained last month after pictures emerged of Katya, 29, kissing her celebrity dance partner Seann Walsh, 32, following a drunken night out.

While the couple appeared to put the incident behind them after dancing together on Blackpool special, The Mirror has now claimed things are still ‘awkward’ between them.

An insider told the newspaper: ‘Katya and Neil were filming a prerecorded pro-dance routine and things were clearly very awkward between them.

‘They were avoiding each other whenever they were off camera and Katya seemed like she was a completely different person when she wasn’t with Neil.’

The source also said: ‘Katya was laughing and joking with all the other pros but whenever she was with Neil she was stone-faced. Neil also seemed reluctant to speak to his wife and was more interested in having fun with the rest of the crew.’

A representative for Katya and Neil, pictured, and Strictly Come Dancing’s spokesman were contacted for comment, but none was received at the time of going to print.

Earlier in the series, Katya and her dance partner faced a backlash after the pair were spotted sharing a kiss together on a night out.

Comedian Seann issued a feeble apology in which he blamed his actions on alcohol.

Katya echoed the sentiments and insisted her marriage to fellow Strictly professional Neil is fine.

However, it appears that Katya’s other half has reason to worry again, as his wife and Seann are said to be dancing together for the finale in a few weeks, according to The Sun.

A source told the publication: ‘Neil will be gutted as when Seann was voted off the show, he was glad to see the back of him. Since he went, the atmosphere backstage has improved and Neil has been visibly happier

‘Things are back on track in his marriage so he’ll be gutted when Seann is back on set.’

After the kiss came to light, Seann was dumped by girlfriend Rebecca Humphries online in a scathing statement in which she revealed she was taking their beloved cat Winston.
