- By Susie Coen news@dailymail.ie

A MUSICAL comedy based on the life of Meghan Markle is to be broadcast on BBC radio.

The Radio 4 show, entitled The Sixth In Line To Be King And I, will air on New Year’s Day and looks at Meghan’s life and future as she expects her first child.

The 15-minute piece in the style of Rodgers and Hammerstein is described as an ‘inspired celebration of Meghan Markle’s life to date’.

It will also ‘look ahead to what promises to be an exciting 2019 for the happy royal couple

as they expect their first child in the spring’.

Meghan and Prince Harry had their own musical experience in August when they saw hit show Hamilton in London and met the cast backstage.

The new radio musical, in which comedienne Pippa Evans will play Meghan, is part of the station’s 15-Minute Musicals series.

Elsewhere on the BBC, Prince Charles will discuss the role music has played in his life in the long-running BBC Radio 3 show Private Passions in which guests speak about ‘their music loves and hates’.

In the programme, due to air on Sunday, December 30, he will talk about the music performed at his wedding to his second wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, which will be played along with a work he personally conducted with members of London’s Philharmonia Orchestra as part of Camilla’s 60th birthday celebrations. Charles also speaks ‘about formative early childhood experiences of attending the ballet and concerts with his grandmother, the Queen Mother’, as well playing the cello with the Trinity College Orchestra while he was a student at Cambridge University.
