MACAULAY CULKIN (pictured) carries this festive classic virtually single-handedly with his performance as freshfaced eight-year-old Kevin McAllister, who is left to fend for himself when a pair of menacing comedy burglars, played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern, turn up to try to ruin Christmas. Cue slapstick gags and now-legendary scenes aplenty – it wouldn’t feel like Christmas without watching this cracker.
