Love is in air before DWTS even begins!

- By Fionnuala Moran

ROMANCE is already blossoming among some of this year’s Dancing With The Stars contestants, the host of the spinoff show has revealed.

Bláthnaid Treacy fronts preview show Can’t Stop Dancing and as such is perfectly placed to spot any budding flirtations.

Asked whether we can expect the show to serve us up more couples like Thalia Heffernan and Ryan McShane, who met in season one, or Jake Carter and Karen Byrne, who found each other on season two, Treacy teased: ‘Yeah, I’ve definitely seen a bit of chemistry here and there backstage.’

But she kept schtum on who: ‘I’m not going to name names, I’m just going to let the romances unfold.’ One professional dancer who was in all of their prayers lately was Curtis Pritchard who was due to dance with Holly Carpenter. Following an attack over Christmas, Curtis has been forced to miss the first month of the show.

With Curtis replaced temporarily following the assault, Bláthnaid believes Holly is at a ‘bit of a disadvantage’, but she doesn’t accept that the model will struggle, noting: ‘Sometimes when something like that happens, you have more fire in your belly.’

Paddy Power has earmarked former rugby international Peter Stringer as the favourite to win.

Can’t Stop Dancing begins on RTÉ One tonight at 8.30pm while DWTS starts 6.30pm on Sunday. showbiz@dailymail.ie
