Renault shock as new boss departs early

-

RENAULT’S new Formula 1 boss has departed the French operation before even starting his new position. Last November, Thierry Koskas was announced as president of Renault Sport and he made a point of attending the seasonconcluding Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on a fact-finding mission. However, 18 days after he was due to start work, Renault announced Kostas’ departure from the entire group. Jerome Stoll, who had been due to retire, will continue as president. A spokesperson for Renault Sport offered no explanation on the reasen’s behind Kiskas’ departure but emphasised the move effectively meant the F1 team continued as before under Stoll and managing director, and de facto team boss, Cyril Abiteboul.
