Perry’s friends and fans rally over rehab ordeal

-

MATTHEW Perry has sparked concern among his fans after revealing he was kicked out of therapy.

The former Friends star, 49, worried his 1.26million Twitter followers when he tweeted on Wednesday: ‘I got kicked out of therapy today.’ The actor, who has previously battled addiction and depression, was soon inundated with messages from fans offering support.

One wrote: ‘I don’t know what is going on, but I hope you are alright and have people to support you. Please feel better. I hope you’re okay. You deserve love and happiness. You made me laugh when I was having rough times and always got me through it.’

A third wrote: ‘Reach out to someone who can give you immediate help, man. Let them help you get to a better therapist, a better way forward. But most importantly, help you in these early hours from a bad event. Don’t mean to preach, just truly love you as a fan.’

Matthew Perry’s representatives have been approached for comment.

The post came five months after the actor secretly stayed in hospital for three months after he had surgery to repair a ruptured bowel. Perry, pictured, is an advocate for addiction services after struggling with addiction to alcohol and prescription drugs during his time on Friends. In 1997, he completed a 28-day program for Vicodin addiction. He later told Larry King that he took the painkiller ‘mostly just to not drink as much as I was.’

In 2001, he entered rehab to recover from his use of Vicodin, methadone, amphetamines, and alcohol.
