HOW THE NEW IMPLANT WORKS

THE X-Bolt device consists of a plate that runs along the outside of the thigh bone, and a special screw that goes into the ball part of the joint. This screw has ‘wings’ that expand out into the joint, providing greater anchorage for the implant, stabilising the fractured hip.
