Not City’s title yet — McAteer

JASON McATEER doesn’t buy the line that Manchester City’s trouncing of Chelsea on Sunday makes them Premier League favourites. ‘You don’t immediately turn around and say Manchester City are going to win the league because they battered Chelsea. It doesn’t work like that,’ said McAteer. ‘It was a good performance, a strong performance, but that’s not to say I don’t see City dropping points.’ The former Liverpool midfielder was in Dublin yesterday to launch a friendly between an Irish Legends XI and a Liverpool Legends XI in aid of the Seán Cox Rehabilitation Trust. The game will be played at the Aviva Stadium on Friday, April 12 with Mick McCarthy and Kenny Dalglish as respective managers. ‘It’s very important to be here,’ said Ian Rush, scorer of a record 346 goals for Liverpool ‘Sean went to a football game, you always expect to come back safely and he didn’t.
