But Charlize Theron looked a bit more Rab C. Nesbitt than red-carpet chic when she wore a netted dress at a dinner in Berlin.
Her Christian Dior outfit consisted of a dark grey ankle-length mesh over a grey leotard. Naturally, she managed to look rather more alluring than Rab – the alcoholic, unemployed Glaswegian comedy character best known for his tatty string vest.
South African actress Ms Theron, 43, went for an edgy look, with her cropped blonde hair worked into a quiff at China Club Berlin, as part of the German capital’s film festival.
The star of Mad Max: Fury Road is said to be dating fellow Hollywood A-lister Brad Pitt after being introduced by former fiancé Sean Penn.
The pair were seen looking ‘ridiculously touchyfeely’ after a screening of Bafta-winning film Roma in Los Angeles last month.
Pitt has been linked to a number of women since the breakdown of his marriage to Angelina Jolie in 2016.
The show Rab C. Nesbitt, the title character of which was played by Gregor Fisher, ran for ten series between 1988 and 2014.
