‘But where will we put our trampoline?’
FAMILIES on the social housing waiting list have turned down homes because there was no space to fit trampolines, or because sea views from the property would make them seasick.
In Limerick, the fact that a house could not accommodate a trampoline in the garden was given as one reason for it being turned down, the Irish Daily Mail previously reported.
Meanwhile, in Co. Waterford, a woman refused a house because she did not want to live in the same estate as her in-laws, the Mail previously revealed. Another woman refused a council house overlooking Cork harbour as she said she and her children would get seasick.
In Kilkenny, a family turned down a property as they felt it was too close to a church.
Other reasons for rejecting accommodation included the presence of barking dogs and children having to share a room.
One family refused a three-bedroom semi-detached house in Galway because they said they would prefer a home that included gas heating.
A person in Cork, meanwhile, refused a house on the grounds that the garden was ‘too big’.
