BITS AND PIECES
The tips and tricks that will change your life this week
SAVE A LIFE A DAY
÷PIETA House is refocusing the love with their Save A Life A Day initiative tomorrow. They want companies, big and small, to fund a counselling programme for one vulnerable person in a drive to reduce the number of lives lost to suicide annually. Each donation should be €1,000 and can be made at pieta.ie
SPEEDY ROMANCE
÷CALLING all singletons! CHQ in Dublin is hoping to smash a world record by hosting the biggest ever speed-dating event tomorrow. Your ticket includes a drink, snacks, entertainment and a raffle ticket, as well as the chance to meet the love of your life ((€15, eventbrite.ie). The matchmaking is done via an app, so there’s plenty of scanning and swiping to keep everyone amused. All proceeds go to Breast Cancer Awareness and Movember Ireland.
BLOOMING AMAZING
÷IRISHMEN are a nation of Cupids, if an Aldi survey is right. A huge 75% said they’ve never forgotten Valentine’s Day, while half admit to buying gifts at the last minute. With prices like €3.99 for these roses, there is no excuse for empty hands on Thursday.
SWITCH ON LOVE
÷ Vienna Woods Country House in Glanmire, Co. Cork is inviting lovers to switch off technology this Thursday by ditching their phones at reception to spend some quality time over dinner. See viennawoodshotel.com
BERRY TASTY
÷THE fruity taste of Ruby chocolate is this year’s treat from Nestlé as a limited edition to its premium range, Les Recettes de l’Atelier. The new pink bar is made from ruby cocoa beans to give an intense flavour, with added raspberries. In SuperValu at €4.50.
