I DISCOVERED yesterday that Gordon Banks played one match for St Patrick’s Athletic, and kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win over Shamrock Rovers in 1977. Apparently he made a great save from a shot from the one and only Eamon Dunphy! What a great tale. May Banks rest in peace.
