No ring on Coleen and Wayne looks glum in the doghouse

AS other couples prepared to swap kisses for Valentine’s Day, longsuffering Coleen Rooney treated herself instead – popping out for a manicure with no wedding ring in sight. Ms Rooney, 32, is said to want her footballer husband Wayne to enter rehab for his drinking. The couple were seen in Washington DC on Wednesday looking anything but loved up.

It can’t have helped that the former England captain, 33, had been seen downing shots with a barmaid in the early hours on a recent night out in Florida.

Wearing black gym gear and a red baseball jacket, Mrs Rooney was pictured holding a drink as she left a nail salon, pictured, having left her wedding ring behind. Her husband, who now plays in the US for DC United, looked fed up as he clutched two coffees – although his gold band remained on show. A source said: ‘The couple met yesterday to talk things through. But Coleen blames Wayne for bringing the spotlight on their family again.’

A friend of the couple told The Sun that Ms Rooney was increasingly unhappy, adding: ‘Wayne has been here before. In 2016, after England’s Euros exit to Iceland, he sought help from a counsellor for sessions to help him overcome his problems. He boozes because of issues he’s been dealing with his whole adult life.

‘Coleen feels Wayne needs to receive more treatment to prevent the threat of complete self-destruction – and salvage their marriage.’

Former Manchester United striker Rooney was reportedly out drinking with team-mates during preseason training while watching the Super Bowl on February 3. During the ten-hour session, Rooney bumped into barmaid Vicki Rosiek, 32, who had served him days earlier at Toucan’s Bar & Grill in Clearwater Florida. She gave him a lift to another bar where he stayed until 2.30am, according to reports.

It came after Rooney was arrested for public intoxication and swearing at Washington Dulles Airport on December 16.
