Hit or Missy? Ronan’s girl to make debut on The Voice UK
THE apple didn’t fall too far from the tree for Missy Keating as she is set to make her stage debut on The Voice UK tonight.
The 17-year-old daughter of Boyzone singer Ronan Keating will performing as a duo with her best friend Georgia Gaffney, also 17, singing Forget You by CeeLo Green.
Speaking before the show tonight, Missy said her father had inspired her to pursue a career in music.
She said: ‘I’ve grown up around music my dad Ronan being in Boyzone. He was my age when he started so I just want start my career now and get a move on.’
Missy is the middle child of Yvonne and Ronan’s three offspring. The pair split up in 2011 following Ronan’s affair with a dancer. He would go on to marry Storm Uechtritz in 2015 while Yvonne has been seeing cinematographer John Conroy.
While getting re-married was something for her ex-husband, Yvonne said that it is not on the cards for her. Last week, speaking on RTÉ’s Today With Maura & Dáithí she opened up about her marriage with the Boyzone star and their break-up. She described her partner Mr Conroy as a ‘gorgeous man’ but said that she has no plans to marry.
‘We have our children. We are happily unmarried and it suits us,’ she said.
Ronan is currently touring with Boyzone on their Thank You And Goodbye Farewell Tour.
The Voice UK is on Virgin Media One at 9pm tonight.
