OZIL’S PSG SNUB
Arsenal star turned down loan move to French giants
MESUT OZIL refused to join Paris SaintGermain on loan from Arsenal last month.
The French league leaders were interested in a temporary deal but the £350,000-a-week German playmaker did not want to move to Paris, even though he does not appear to be in Gunners manager Unai Emery’s plans.
Ozil has missed more games than he has played this season through illness, back problems, a knee injury, or because he has been dropped. In December, knowing he was not going to be named in the starting line-up against Tottenham, Ozil ruled himself out with a back spasm.
Sportsmail understands he does not want to leave on loan and will push for a permanent move if frozen out. Emery has made clear to Arsenal’s board he has reservations about Ozil’s commitment. Some players, though, feel the team is missing the German’s creativity.
