FALDO: TIGER’S SWING IS BETTER THAN EVER

NICK FALDO believes Tiger Woods is on course to achieve great things this year after watching his impressive performance at the Genesis Open. ‘I think he’s swinging the club as well as I’ve ever seen him,’ said the Englishman — and that was before Woods completed an eye-catching third-round 65 yesterday featuring two eagles — his best at the Riviera course in 15 years. Held back over the first two rounds by poor putting, Woods put that right to move through the field. He went out in the final round and picked up three birdies before a dropped shot at his ninth, the 18th, left him inside the top 10. After three rounds, Justin Thomas was four clear of Adam Scott with Rory McIlroy seven adrift.
