Kerry: Myself and Brian get on like a house on fire
KERRY Katona has said she is on the best of terms with ‘favourite’ ex-husband Brian McFadden as she endeavours to finally find her Mr Right on the forthcoming series of Celebs Go Dating.
The former Atomic Kitten star, 38, divorced first husband McFadden in 2006 after a fouryear marriage, during which the couple welcomed daughters Molly and Lilly-Sue.
But Kerry, who has five children from three marriages in total, insists they have developed a close friendship over the ensuing 13 years, and has even cheered him on from the studio audience during his involvement with ITV show Dancing On Ice.
Making an appearance on Monday’s edition of Loose Women, Kerry, pictured with Brian, said: ‘I went along a couple of weeks ago with all the children. He’s doing brilliant, and it’s so nice that we have that kind of relationship now. Brian was my first love.’
After doomed marriages to McFadden, taxi driver Mark Croft and George Kay, Kerry now has her sights set on a new relationship after signing up for Celebs Go Dating.
Characteristically loud and brash, the singer and presenter said of the E4 show: ‘It was really, really intimidating for me. All people know me for is being loud and a gob on legs and very confident when it comes to dating.
‘I met my first hubby when I was 18. I’ve always really committed to a relationship, so when you have to walk into a room full of men, for me it was really daunting, like, “Oh my God, I feel a bit mortified.”’
Daughter Molly, 17, the oldest of her two children with McFadden, had also harboured concerns about her mother taking part – and warned her not to kiss every man she dates.
