Semenya insists IAAF ‘broke’ deal
CASTER SEMENYA’S legal team have accused the IAAF of breaking an agreement ahead of the Court of Arbitration for Sport hearing that will determine if the double Olympic champion has to take medication to continue competing. Semenya is in Lausanne, Switzerland, this week to challenge the IAAF’s introduction of revised eligibility rules that set a limit on testosterone levels in athletes with disorders of sexual development (DSDs). Her lawyers said: ‘Ms Semenya believes the IAAF press release is a clear breach of the confidentiality provisions that was orchestrated in an effort to influence public opinion in circumstances where the IAAF knew that Ms Semenya would not be prepared to respond because she was complying with her confidentiality obligations.’
