Flying United turn up the heat on Sarri

- SAMI MOKBEL

MANCHESTER United increased the pressure on under-fire Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri as they dumped the holders out of the FA Cup here last night.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side inflicted more misery on the Italian with a comfortable win to reach the last eight. Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba scored the first-half goals that earned United a trip to Wolves.

‘It was a perfect performance defensively,’ said Solskjaer. ‘The tactics worked well. I asked the players to defend higher up the pitch and they did.

‘It was a massive win after the defeat by Paris Saint-Germain and the criticism we had.’

Pogba put United’s victory down to the trust he and his team-mates have built up with interim boss Solskjaer.

‘Ole trusts us and we trust him. We play to win trophies and he has come in to deliver that.

‘Tonight was a beautiful win and a great performance by the team.’
