WITH two of the television acting world’s most prestigious stars as parents, you might expect to live a rather charmed life.

But Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory have come clean – they refused to buy a dishwasher as they didn’t want their son and daughter to get lazy.

The Homeland star, 48, who is worth around €9.9million, has two children with the Peaky Blinders actress, 51 – Manon, 12, and Gulliver, 11.

‘We have only just got a dishwasher because I would scream and shout and say: “I want the kids to realise that you have to buy the food and cook the food and eat the food and then wash up,”’ Ms McCrory told The Idler magazine.

Ms McCrory also revealed she worries her children aren’t rebellious enough.

The star, who returned as Aunt Polly this week in the fifth season of Peaky Blinders, said: ‘When I was going through my 13-14 stage I was wearing my Doc Martens and going to see Siouxsie and the Banshees.

‘That whole movement was anti the system. It was so f*** you,’ she added.
