Brazil imposes burning ban
BRAZIL’S president yesterday banned the majority of agricultural burning for two months amid global criticism over the Amazon’s wildfires.

Another 1,044 blazes began on Monday and Tuesday, taking this year’s total to 83,329 – the highest since 2010.
