‘I’m used to nastiness but I worry for my girls’

-

DENISE Richards has dealt with a lot of nasty behaviour on her hit show The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills.

And in an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, the 48-yearold actress, pictured, has revealed that she has dealt with bad attitude her whole life.

The mother-of-three said there were ‘catty girls’ on her high school cheerleading team who refused to be inclusive or positive. And the former Bond girl added that the difference now is that there is social media to egg on all the ugliness.

The subject came up as Denise was asked about her new TV movie The Secret Life Of Cheerleaders, which debuts on Monday.

‘I was a cheerleader in high school,’ said the ex-wife of Charlie Sheen. ‘And there were always catty girls around, it’s nothing new.

‘There was pressure to look a certain way and have a certain body. Everyone felt it.’

But she believes that these days it is much worse, explaining: ‘That’s because there are cell phones where people can be cruel, or worse, record something private and share it. Then people join in.’

She hopes things will change in the future for the sake of her three daughters, Sam, 15, Lola, 14, and Eloise, seven. She said: ‘I am a mom to three girls so I think about it a lot; it worries me. I always tell them to stay positive and be kind. There is so much pressure on all these kids now. It needs to lighten up.’

In her new TV movie, she plays a mother who moves her daughter to a new town. She encourages her to join the cheerleading team to make friends and have fun.

‘She is more caring and guiding than a stage mom. Her intentions are good,’ said Denise, who is also due to join the cast of BH90210.
