GOOCH: BIG LOSS WON’T DO

- By MARK GALLAGHER

KERRY legend Colm Cooper insists that a heavy defeat to Dublin on Sunday will not be tolerated by the public in the Kingdom. Cooper has always held the belief that Kerry will be the next team to beat Dublin in championship football, simply because of their attacking prowess, although he is not sure if that will happen this weekend. However, he feels that a trimming will not be acceptable in his county. ‘I think the next team to beat Dublin will be Kerry because they have more firepower up front than anyone else but I make this point very strongly – Kerry going up and getting hammered by Dublin won’t be accepted by the Kerry public,’ Cooper said on the RTÉ GAA podcast. Gooch does feel that they are some people within his own county who believe that Kerry can pull off a huge shock. He said: ‘There are people in Kerry who feel that they can surprise Dublin. They are not just going up with hope, there’s inner confidence that they can do it. ‘I think the best chance for Kerry to win is if they get three goals but it is very difficult to see them winning.’
