Yewande: I am in shock... but maybe DWTS audience is too old to know me

YEWANDE Biala has said she is in shock after crashing out of Dancing With The Stars,

She also said the show’s voting audience are generally older and don’t know her from her time on Love Island.

The Co. Meath scientist, 24, has now departed from two reality shows, but says she’s feeling ‘decent’ after becoming the first contender to be eliminated from RTÉ’s Dancing With The Stars – despite both Fr Ray Kelly and Michael Carruth landing lower than her on the leader board on Sunday Night.

Maia Dunphy thought was ‘harsh’, Yewande told the Irish Daily Mail: ‘I’m still kind of in shock but I think it’s kind of sinking in and I’m trying to get over it now.’

Discussing why her massive social media following may not have translated into her receiving enough votes, Yewande felt a few factors were at play.

‘It could have been a combinatio­n of younger people not watching and obviously Love Island is a UK show so most of my followers are predominan­tly English,’ she explained.

Her dance partner Stephen Vincent, who was new to the series this year, felt their departure was ‘bitterswee­t.’
