GARDAÍ UNCOVER COCAINE LAB

GARDAÍ have uncovered a cocaine processing laboratory – and also seized more than €178,000 in cash.

Officers stopped and searched a car near Loughrea, Co. Galway, on Sunday and seized €17,580 in cash.

As part of a follow-up search, gardaí uncovered the cocaine processing laboratory and seized €50,000 worth of the drug in Galway city.

They also found mixing agent, a cocaine press, a vacuum packer, industrial gas masks and a cash counting machine.

In a further follow-up search, gardaí seized €161,000 in cash at a separate address in Galway city.

One man in his 20s was arrested when the car was stopped near Loughrea, and a second man in his 30s was arrested in Galway city.
