SOUTHEND CHARGED OVER UNPAID WAGES

SOUTHEND have been charged with misconduct by the EFL for failing to pay nine of their players on time for December. The problem of unpaid salaries was revealed by Sportsmail earlier this month, when players threatened to go on strike. The League One strugglers now face a disciplinary commission.
