CLUBS FUME AT PREMIER LEAGUE OVER THEIR ‘WALL OF SILENCE’

- By JACK GAUGHAN

FOLLOWING the news late last night of Mikel Arteta’s positive test and the Arsenal squad isolation, the Premier League called an emergency club meeting for this morning to discuss fixtures.

Sportsmail understands that furious relegationthreatened sides will demand a suspension at the meeting. A group of clubs in and around the bottom six reacted with anger following yesterday’s business as normal announcement after three Leicester City players self-isolated before the Foxes’ clash with Watford. Sources told Sportsmail Premier League bosses have lacked leadership while other European leagues are taking decisive action. Club executives complained at being met with a ‘wall of silence’ when asking questions ahead of this weekend’s matches.
