DANCE FLOOR BATTLE OF THE SEXES BEST MOMENT

We’re down to two men and two women for the semi final but who will make it through to next week?

- By Tanya Sweeney

NOW that Fr. Ray Kelly has exited stage left, the race is truly on for fthe fab final four of Dancing With The Stars. Nearly two months after the glittering line-up of the fourth season first took to the dancefloor, we are left with four seriously good competitors.

This week they will be dancing in front of the judges in an empty studio, which might take a bit of the pressure off.

Kilkenny hurler Aidan Fogarty, dancing with Emily Barker, is already familiar with winning silverware, so will likely have his eye on the glitterball trophy.

Miss Universe Ireland Grainne Gallanagh, who is dancing with Kai Widdington, was a lesser-known celebrity in among the starry cast. But she has proven herself a firm fan favourite.

Lottie Ryan, partnered with Pasquale La Rocca, has proved she’s much more than a dab hand behind the radio microphone, and has been the woman behind several of this series’ best routines.

And Fair City actor Ryan Andrews, already a bit of a stage veteran, has shown off no end of nifty footwork along with his dancing partner Giulia Dotta.

Ahead of the semi-final, it’s all very much to play for. Hot favourite Lottie Ryan found herself in the bottom two last week to everyone’s surprise, while Grainne Gallanagh clawed her way from underdog territory to take the lead.

With the four now eyeing up the main prize, the question looms large: will a guy or girl be the eventual winner of this latest series?

GAA star Aidan O’Mahony waltzed off with the prize in the first series back in 2017; a year later, Jake Carter took the top spot in Series Two.

And last year, Mairead Ronan beat off the competition to get her hands on the glitterball trophy.

No doubt Grainne and Lottie will be keen to keep the winner’s sheet nice and balanced; Ryan and Aidan, meanwhile, will be hoping to keep the score ahead for the guys.

But in this years’ battle of the sexes, which gender deserves to come out on top? Will the men be yet again covered in glory, or will the hotfooting of the female celebs put paid to all of that?

And, now ten episodes in, which faction have been the better competitors?
